Nigerian Troops Rescue Kidnap Victims, Kill Two Suspects in Katsina Raid

Troops operating under Sector 2 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, alongside members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, have rescued kidnapped civilians and killed two suspected terrorists during an operational sweep in Katsina State.

The joint force deployed to Kurudu Village in Kankia Local Government Area following emergency reports of insurgent activity. Forces engaged the armed group, forcing the remaining members to retreat into nearby bushland and abandon their captives unharmed.

Search operations at the scene yielded two AK-47 assault rifles and loaded ammunition magazines.

In a concurrent operation on Friday, military units partnered with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to execute an intelligence-led raid in Gozaki Village, Kafur Local Government Area.

The raid resulted in the confiscation of a substantial quantity of illicit pharmaceuticals and narcotics—including Tramadol, Cannabis Sativa, Exol-5, Pregabalin, and other controlled substances. The seized items have been transferred to the NDLEA for further investigation
