Nigerian Army Kills Two Terrorists, Recovers Weapons in Zamfara Operation

Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 8 Division have killed two terrorists and recovered two AK-103-2 rifles, ammunition, and motorcycles during clearance operations across Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji Local Government Areas in Zamfara State.

The soldiers cleared multiple communities—including Ungwan Sarkin Musulmi, Gidan Dutsi, Dumpami, and Sabon-Birni—before engaging insurgents at Garin Kaso. Troops killed two suspects at the scene, recovering two rifles, two magazines, nine rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, and two motorcycles.

During their withdrawal from Garin Kaso, the unit fought through an ambush by armed insurgents concealed in nearby farmland, killing several additional attackers.

One soldier sustained a gunshot wound during the encounter and was evacuated to a nearby General Hospital for treatment.
