Key objectives and components of the competition include:
- Strategic Focus: Alignment with the Chief of Army Staff’s command philosophy to maintain high standards of combat readiness, professional discipline, and tactical proficiency across all operational cadres.
- Core Assessment Areas: Participating formations will be evaluated on map reading, obstacle crossing, military drills, combat swimming, weapon handling, marksmanship, and endurance runs.
- Leadership and Esprit de Corps: The competition aims to strengthen unit cohesion, foster healthy inter-formation rivalry, and test junior leadership under high-stress tactical scenarios.
In his welcome address, Brigadier General Isidore Amah, Commander of the 8 Division Garrison, described the initiative as a deliberate effort to reinforce military doctrine, build physical resilience, and ensure troops remain fully prepared for deployment across complex operational environments.
