Nigerian Air Force Bombards Terrorist Logistics Base in Northeast Strikes

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria — The Nigerian Air Force has launched a series of coordinated air strikes in northeastern Borno State, destroying key insurgent logistics facilities and killing several fighters, military officials have confirmed.

The precision aerial assault targeted identified terrorist hideouts and supply structures at Biramiri, located within the wider Gezuwa area of the state—a region historically plagued by a long-running Islamist insurgency.

In a formal briefing on Tuesday, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, stated that the operation was executed following a wave of definitive Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) tracking missions.

Crippling Insurgent Networks

Military commanders say the air raid has delivered a significant logistical blow to the armed groups operating near the fringes of the Lake Chad basin and the Sambisa axis.

“The coordinated attacks destroyed key terrorist facilities and neutralised several fighters, further crippling the operational capacity of the insurgents,” Air Commodore Ejodame said in a statement.

According to military intelligence assessments, the sustained aerial campaign has sparked severe disruption, fear, and disorientation within the ranks of the command structures of the terrorist networks. Defence officials report that the continuous bombardments have successfully restricted the fighters’ freedom of movement and denied them the ability to maintain permanent safe havens in the area.

Relentless Pressure

The air strikes are part of a broader, multi-agency offensive designed to permanently stabilise the region after more than a decade of conflict.

The Air Force stated that it is working in close synchronicity with ground troops from the military’s joint task force, Operation Hadin Kai, alongside civilian joint task forces and sister security agencies.

Air Commodore Ejodame reiterated that the military remains resolute in maintaining “relentless pressure” on active terrorist networks across the North-East, emphasizing a commitment to protecting civilian lives and restoring long-term security to the federation.
