Electricity supply has been fully restored to Kano, one of northern Nigeria’s primary commercial hubs, following the completion of critical maintenance work on a key transmission line.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) confirmed that the 132kV Kumbotso–Dan’Agundi line was successfully re-energised at 11:39 local time on Sunday.
The brief outage allowed technical teams to complete scheduled repairs aimed at bolstering grid infrastructure in the region.
Following the restoration, the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has resumed full power distribution to residential and commercial consumers across the Kano metropolis and surrounding areas.
In a statement, TCN management reiterated its commitment to upgrading national transmission infrastructure to improve grid reliability and service delivery across the West African nation.
