Nigeria Explores Seafood, Blue Economy Investment at Spain’s CONXEMAR 2026

VIGO, Spain — Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain, Okezie Ikpeazu, attended the opening ceremony of the 27th International Frozen Seafood Exhibition (CONXEMAR 2026) on Tuesday at the IFEVI Exhibition Centre in Vigo, Galicia.

CONXEMAR ranks among the world’s leading trade fairs dedicated exclusively to the frozen seafood sector, drawing key industry players, investors, and official delegations from across the globe.

The opening event brought together high-profile dignitaries, including the President of the Xunta de Galicia, senior representatives of the Spanish Government, the Mayor of Vigo, and the President of CONXEMAR, alongside members of the diplomatic corps and international business leaders in the fisheries and aquaculture industries.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, Ambassador Ikpeazu engaged in discussions with CONXEMAR executives and representatives from maritime, fisheries, and industrial packaging firms.

The meetings form part of a broader diplomatic push by the Nigerian Embassy in Madrid to drive foreign direct investment into Nigeria’s expanding blue economy and build strategic partnerships with Spanish marine enterprises.
