Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has insisted his team will not give up on the Premier League title race, despite their recent loss to West Ham. “Over my dead body,” he said when asked about conceding the title. While acknowledging the difficulty of the challenge, especially with Liverpool’s form, Arteta emphasized that mathematically it is still possible. “If you are going to win the Premier League you have to do something special. If you are going to win the Premier League with the circumstances we have you will probably have to do something that nobody else has done in the history of the Premier League,” he added.
Arteta described the West Ham defeat as “a tough one to take,” given their recent consistency. He highlighted the team’s strong run of form over the previous three months. He also praised Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo, calling his work at both Forest and Wolves “incredible” and a “remarkable story.”
Regarding team news, Arteta confirmed that Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are “progressing really well” but are still some way from returning to action. He acknowledged the disappointment of the weekend’s results but stressed the need to refocus with many games still remaining. He noted the team’s strong form before the West Ham game, winning ten and drawing five of their previous 15 matches, a record matching Liverpool’s.
