The Tinubu Media Volunteers have welcomed the federal government’s recent salary increase for armed forces personnel, describing the enhancement as a vital morale booster that will strengthen national security operations across the country.
In a joint statement issued by Chairman Chukwudi Enekwechi and Secretary Segun Ogedengbe, the group commended President Bola Tinubu for approving salary increments ranging between 30% and 80% across various ranks within the military structure. Under the updated pay scale, senior officers from the rank of Colonel to General receive a 30% increase, while lower ranks benefit from higher percentage adjustments designed to cushion economic pressures and improve overall troop welfare.
The organisation emphasised that the wage adjustment comes at a critical juncture as front-line troops continue to execute counter-terrorism and anti-banditry operations in key operational theatres.
The group noted that enhanced financial compensation, combined with the administration’s recent procurement of advanced military hardware and equipment, provides essential support for service members working to secure the nation. Expressing confidence in the long-term impact of the policy, the volunteers maintained that improved welfare standards will directly enhance operational efficiency and reinforce the armed forces’ mandate to restore stability across affected regions.
