The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa has called on National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to intensify their efforts in promoting digital literacy across Nigeria.
This initiative, known as Digital Literacy for All (DL4ALL), aims to empower Nigerians with essential digital knowledge, enabling them to access opportunities in an increasingly digitally-driven world. Mr. Inuwa emphasized the significance of this program, stating that it’s not just an investment in individuals, but also in Nigeria’s collective future.
He believes that a digitally skilled workforce will transform the economy and position Nigeria as a leader in the global knowledge economy. The DL4ALL initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes innovation-driven economic growth, youth empowerment, and national prosperity. Mr. Inuwa urged the NYSC members to serve as change agents in their assigned communities, imparting knowledge and sensitizing communities about the benefits of digital skills.
Key Objectives of the DL4ALL Initiative: Empower 70% of Nigerians with digital literacy by 2027 and 95% by 2030;
Foster digital inclusion and promote economic growth;
Position Nigeria as a leader in the global knowledge economy.
The initiative has received enthusiastic support from the NYSC members, who recognize the opportunity to make a tangible difference in people’s lives while gaining experience in leadership and community engagement.
As the champions set out on their mission, their tireless efforts are poised to spark a transformative wave that will positively impact countless lives and communities nationwide, leaving a lasting legacy for generations to come.
