ABUJA — The Democratic Front (TDF) has hailed the Saudi Arabian government’s decision to grant President Bola Ahmed Tinubu access to enter the Ka’abah, describing it as a profound validation of Nigeria’s growing stature and diplomatic influence internationally.
In a statement signed by Chairman Mallam Danjuma Muhammad and Secretary Chief Wale Adedayo, the group noted that the rare privilege reflects deep mutual respect for President Tinubu and the country at large.
“The opening of the Ka’abah for the President by Saudi authorities therefore symbolizes a quintessential mark of honour for Nigeria on account of the remarkable socioeconomic milestone achieved under Tinubu’s exemplary leadership in the last three years,” TDF stated.
Bilateral growth and economic partnerships
The group attributed the diplomatic recognition to the success of the administration’s “Renewed Hope” reforms, which have driven bilateral cooperation and investment inflows from global economic powers like Saudi Arabia across key sectors, including agriculture, education, housing, and oil and gas.
TDF specifically highlighted recent energy trade milestones, noting that Saudi state-owned oil giant Aramco’s purchase of 140 million litres of Aviation Jet Fuel (Jet A1) from the Dangote Refinery has significantly boosted the balance of trade between Nigeria and the Kingdom.
Expressing gratitude for the President’s prayers for national peace and unity from within the holy site, TDF urged Nigerians to rally behind the administration as the country approaches the general elections scheduled for January 16, 2027.
