TCN undertakes maintenance on Uyo-Itu 132kV transmission line in Akwa Ibom State

Electricity consumers across major commercial and urban centers in Akwa Ibom State face a temporary power outage on Saturday following scheduled maintenance on a high-voltage transmission line.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced that maintenance crews are servicing the Uyo-Itu 132-kilovolt transmission line between 10:00 and 16:00 WAT on 31 October 2026.

As a result, the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) is unable to receive bulk power for distribution to customers across the Uyo Complex, Eket, Ikot Abasi, Etinan, Ikot Ekpene, and Onna.

“TCN apologises for any inconvenience this will cause electricity customers in the affected areas,” the state-owned grid operator said in a statement released on Saturday, assuring consumers that bulk supply will resume upon completion of the maintenance work.
