The Obi-Kwankwaso Movement (OK Movement) has unveiled a 59-member presidential campaign council as it accelerates preparations for Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
The campaign team will be led by John Ughulu as Director-General, with Saadatu Sani serving as National Secretary. The newly announced structure covers all six geopolitical zones, the Federal Capital Territory, and coordinators across Nigeria’s 36 states.
The campaign council will spearhead the joint presidential bid of former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, running under the Nigeria Democratic Congress platform.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Sani described the appointments as a “call to duty and sacrifice,” charging the council to build a grassroots mobilization strategy reaching every ward and community.
“Your appointment is an honour, but more importantly, it is a responsibility. The journey has begun,” Sani said. “The OK Movement is not built around individuals seeking personal recognition. It is a movement driven by a larger national vision: to mobilize Nigerians around the possibility of a better, more prosperous, united, and functional Nigeria.”
Key appointments within the 59-member council include:
- Regional Coordinators: Suleiman Abubakar (North-Central), Hashimu Dungurawa (North-West), Amadu Gwambe (North-East), Dr. Adebayo Adefolaseye (South-West), Christopher Ighodaro (South-South), and El-Shaddai Ikeh (South-East).
- Directorate Leadership: Kingdom Okere (Legal Affairs), Abiodun Dabiri (Strategy and Planning), Rtd CSP Richard Enemona (Security and Intelligence), Glory Adayi (Women Affairs), and Aisha Abdulrahaman (Administration).
The unveiling follows the movement’s recent declaration that it will maintain an independent political structure rather than merge with existing political alliances ahead of the 2027 polls.
