Nigeria’s High Commissioner-Designate to Kenya, with concurrent accreditation to Somalia, Ambassador Danlami Ibrahim, has presented his Letters of Credence to Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud at Villa Somalia in Mogadishu.
During the formal presentation ceremony, Ambassador Ibrahim conveyed warm greetings and warm wishes from Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reaffirming Abuja’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation with Somalia.

Key Areas of Strategic Cooperation
The Nigerian principal envoy outlined several core priority areas for expanded partnership between both nations:
- Security and Counter-Terrorism: Deepening joint intelligence sharing and security strategies to combat violent extremism in East and West Africa.
- Trade and Investment: Expanding bilateral commercial links and opening new market opportunities for businesses in both countries.
- Social and Technical Exchange: Strengthening collaboration in education, cultural affairs, and diaspora management frameworks.
The diplomatic engagement comes as Nigeria continues to expand its strategic bilateral partnerships across the African continent to drive economic ties and regional peace.
