Troops from the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, operating under Operation Fansan Yamma, have thwarted an attack by armed bandits and recovered rustled cattle in the Kebbe Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
During the engagement, security forces overpowered the gunmen following a heavy firefight, forcing the assailants to retreat into nearby forests and abandon a herd of stolen livestock.
Military officials confirmed that the recovered cattle have been secured and held for formal identification before being returned to their rightful owners in the local farming communities.
Residents across Kebbe Local Government Area praised the military for their rapid intervention, noting that the sustained presence of troops has prevented widespread displacement and safeguarded agricultural livelihoods.
