Barcelona Agree Deal with Arsenal to Sign Gabriel Jesus

Barcelona have reached an agreement with Arsenal to sign Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus on a permanent transfer, according to reports.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Sunday that the Catalan club will pay a fee exceeding €10m (£8.4m) plus performance-related add-ons for the 29-year-old striker.

Jesus has agreed terms on a contract running until June 2028, with the option to extend for a further year until 2029. The Brazilian is expected to travel to Spain on Monday after receiving formal authorization from Arsenal to complete his medical and finalise the move.

The late-window acquisition provides a crucial attacking reinforcement for Barcelona manager Hansi Flick, who has been searching for a proven central striker following the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, the latter joining Paris Saint-Germain in August 2026.

Barcelona had initially targeted Atlético Madrid’s Julián Álvarez, but turned their attention to Jesus after the Madrid club refused to sanction a sale.

The move brings an end to Jesus’s stint in North London, offering the former Manchester City forward a fresh start in La Liga after years of top-flight Premier League experience.
