LOKOJA, Nigeria — The Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Ododo, has publicly expressed his gratitude to state government officials for their support following the recent death of his father, Ahmed Momohsani.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Governor described his late father as a “pillar of strength” whose life was defined by humility and service. He acknowledged that while his father’s passing was a painful loss, the overwhelming sympathy from colleagues and well-wishers was a testament to the unity among the people of Kogi State.
Governor Ododo noted that the support he received transcended ethnic and religious lines, reflecting a vision of togetherness that began with his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, in 2016.
“From the Deputy Governor to every official, you stood with my family when we needed it most. Your actions brought comfort in our grief and lightened the burden of this irreparable loss,” the Governor said. He added, “On behalf of my family, I wish to express my deepest gratitude to all who identified with us. Your compassion is consoling.”
Governor Ododo concluded by reaffirming his commitment to fostering peace and harmony in the state, noting that the solidarity shown during his family’s difficult time truly highlights the resilience of the Kogi people when they are united.
