Nigeria and EU Officials to Meet in Abuja on Key Partnership Issues

Abuja, Nigeria – Senior officials from Nigeria and the European Union are set to hold crucial discussions in the Nigerian capital next week, from Tuesday, July 1st, to Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025. The meeting is aimed at preparing for an upcoming ministerial-level gathering and exploring new avenues for collaboration between the two long-standing partners.

The two-day session will be co-chaired by Ambassador Janet Olisa, Director for Regions at Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Mathieu Briens, Deputy Managing Director for the Africa Department at the European External Action Service.

Discussions are expected to cover a wide array of topics, reflecting the broad scope of the Nigeria-EU relationship. Key areas on the agenda include:
