Nigerian Students Protest Worsening Insecurity in Ondo State

Students in Nigeria’s Ondo State have taken to the streets to protest against what they describe as worsening insecurity in the region.

The demonstrators, primarily from Owo Polytechnic, blocked the Oba Adesida Road near the “A” Division in Akure, the state capital, on Thursday. They chanted slogans such as “Enough is enough” and called for urgent government action to address the issue.

The students voiced their anger over the frequent abduction of their fellow students, alleging that kidnappers often kill their victims even after receiving ransom payments.

The protest highlights growing concerns about insecurity in parts of Nigeria, particularly the issue of kidnapping for ransom, which has affected various segments of society, including students.
