Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has issued a call to investors worldwide to tap into the state’s vast economic potential. Speaking at the Global Entrepreneurship Festival in Akure, the state capital, Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted Ondo’s strategic location, rich natural and mineral resources and ongoing developmental projects as key attractions for investment.
Ondo State is in Southwestern Nigerian and is over three hundred and fifty kilometres away from Nigeria’s capital, Abuja.
The governor noted that Ondo is Nigeria’s fifth-largest producer of hydrocarbons and contributes 40% to the country’s cocoa exports. He also emphasized the promising future of the proposed Ondo Deep Seaport, which would further boost economic activities in the state.
Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship in driving economic growth and social progress. He encouraged collective action to harness innovation and entrepreneurial spirit for economic transformation.
The governor’s call for investment is part of his administration’s efforts to create a conducive environment for businesses to thrive. This includes providing infrastructure, supporting entrepreneurship, and promoting innovation.
The Ondo State government has already made significant strides in this direction, including the establishment of the Entrepreneurship Village in Akure. This initiative aims to provide a platform for mentorship, funding, and innovation, and to foster a culture of creativity and collaboration
