Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has congratulated the management and staff of Nigerian Tribune Newspapers on their 75th anniversary. Governor Ododo praised the newspaper’s leadership role in shaping narratives and holding government accountable, promoting truth, transparency, and accountability over the past half-century.
In a statement signed by Ismaila Isah, Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Governor Ododo commended Nigerian Tribune’s commitment to responsible journalism, which has earned the trust of its readers. The Governor emphasized the importance of responsible journalism in sustaining democracy and the rule of law, noting that Nigerian Tribune has distinguished itself as a reputable news organization that prioritizes fact, balance, and objectivity.
Governor Ododo expressed optimism that the 75th anniversary celebration would encourage Nigerian Tribune to continue pursuing truth and journalistic ethics, essential for a stable democracy in Nigeria.
Nigerian Tribune Newspapers was founded on November 16, 1949, by Chief Obafemi Awolowo and his wife, Hannah Dideolu, and has established itself as a pioneering media institution.
