As the world marks World Food Day, a leading non-governmental organization has called on the Nigerian government to scale up its efforts to boost agricultural production and ensure food security.
Sustain Aquagreen Planet and Food Security Foundation (SAP-FSF) Executive Director, Onoja Ameh, made the appeal, emphasizing the need for effective collaboration between public, private, and non-profit organizations.
“Nigeria must prioritize agricultural sustainability to achieve food security,” Mr. Ameh said. “We commend the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, African Development Bank, and partners for launching the Special Agricultural Processing Zone project, which will significantly impact food insecurity.”
SAP-FSF has committed to educating farmers on best practices and smart farming through awareness and mass education. The organization also stressed the importance of youth and women involvement in agribusiness.

Mr. Ameh emphasized, “Right to food for a better life and better future is achievable with concerted effort.”
