Nigeria’s Falconets have booked their place in the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after delivering a dominant 3-0 victory over England in Poland on Thursday.
Moses Aduku’s side took early control of the Round of 16 encounter at the Stadion Miejski in Bielsko-Biała, with Tosin Rafiu opening the scoring in the eighth minute following a sharp attacking start.
England were handed a lifeline before the interval, but Nigerian goalkeeper and captain Christiana Uzoma saved Rachel Maltby’s penalty to preserve the lead.
The Falconets doubled their advantage just two minutes into the second half through Seimeyeha Janet Akekoromowei, before Mary Mamudu sealed the victory in the 73rd minute.
