Nigeria, Switzerland deepen ties as envoy presents credentials in Bern

Nigeria’s Ambassador to Switzerland, Wahab Akande, has presented his Letters of Credence to Swiss President Guy Parmelin at the Federal Palace in Bern, reaffirming both nations’ commitment to strengthening diplomatic and economic cooperation.

Speaking during Tuesday’s ceremony, Ambassador Akande conveyed warm greetings from President Bola Tinubu and said Nigeria is ready to expand bilateral engagement across trade, investment, education, culture, and innovation.

The envoy highlighted the Nigeria-Switzerland Bilateral Consultations framework as a vital platform for continuous dialogue, reviewing shared interests, and unlocking new avenues for institutional and economic collaboration.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in Abuja that the presentation marks a key milestone in deepening long-standing cordial relations between Nigeria and the Swiss Confederation.
