Troops of Sector 2 under Operation Fansan Yamma have thwarted an attempted abduction, rescuing six members of the same family in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The military intervention was launched after security forces received actionable intelligence regarding an ongoing assault by armed terrorists targeting a residential household in the area.
Troops rapidly mobilized to the scene and engaged the attackers with heavy firepower, forcing the armed group to abandon the kidnapping operation and retreat.
All six family members were rescued unharmed and evacuated to a secure military facility for medical evaluation and support prior to their planned reunification with relatives.
Military authorities said the successful rescue highlights the enhanced intelligence-response capabilities of Operation Fansan Yamma in protecting civilian populations and disrupting terrorist activities across the North-West region.
