The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled five-hour preventive maintenance exercise at its Ajaokuta 330/132 kV Transmission Substation, set to take place on Tuesday, 1 September 2026.
According to a statement issued by TCN management, the maintenance will run from 10:00 to 15:00 hrs to allow engineers to service the bay switchgear and associated equipment on the 132 kV Ajaokuta Transmission Line 1.
As a result of the work, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be temporarily unable to draw power from the substation, leading to a power outage affecting consumers in Adogo, Anyigba, Ganaja, and surrounding communities.
TCN stated that normal power supply will be restored immediately upon completion of the maintenance work and expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to residents in the affected areas.
