ABUJA — More than 1.9 million voters in Osun State have collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of Saturday’s gubernatorial election, Nigeria’s electoral umpire has announced.
According to figures released on Thursday by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), a total of 1,906,390 PVCs—representing 81.5% of registered voters in the south-western state—were retrieved during the collection window. Out of the state’s 2,339,233 total registered voters, 432,843 cards (18.5%) remained uncollected. In line with official protocol, INEC confirmed that all uncollected cards have been safely deposited in the vaults of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) until after the poll.
