The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has alerted the public to a fraudulent viral notice claiming that a special redeployment window has been opened for corps members.
The scheme flagged the notice as fake on its verified X handle (@officialnyscng) on Friday, stamping the circulating graphic with a bold “FAKE NEWS” watermark.
The scam message, titled “URGENT NOTICE: NYSC REDEPLOYMENT,” was targeted at parents and guardians, falsely claiming that a redeployment period was active due to “issues of National Security, Health, and State of the Nation.” It urged corps members with “genuine grounds” to urgently contact two provided phone numbers for processing assistance.

Reiterating its stance against official fraud, the NYSC management affirmed that all deployment and redeployment procedures are conducted exclusively through its official online portal and recognized physical offices.
The scheme warned corps members, parents, and the general public that it does not engage third-party agents or handle postings through private phone calls, advising everyone to verify official communications through the scheme’s formal website and verified social media channels.
