Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawale, made the announcement during a visit to Isa town, emphasizing the government’s commitment to restoring normalcy to affected communities.

Government Commitment

Matawale reassured villagers that the federal government is working tirelessly to revive economic activities in the area. He also confirmed discussions with the governor to reopen the Marnona-Isa town road, facilitating movement and trade.

Warning to Informants

The minister issued a stern warning to villagers against collaborating with bandits, stressing that such actions would be treated as criminal offenses. “Anyone caught providing information to bandits will face severe consequences,” he cautioned.

Support for Troops

Mr. Matawale commended the troops of Operation Hadarin Daji for their efforts in combating banditry in Sokoto State. He assured them of President Bola Tinubu’s support and the government’s commitment to providing necessary logistics and infrastructure to enhance their operations.

Collaboration and Logistics

The federal government, in partnership with the Sokoto state government, plans to construct suitable facilities for the troops, ensuring they have the necessary resources to perform their duties effectively. This move aims to bolster the military’s capacity to tackle insecurity and restore peace to the region.
