ABUJA, NIGERIA – Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima are among a host of political leaders and governors who have offered condolences to Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, following the death of his father, Alhaji Ahmed MomohSani Alabi, at the age of 83.
In his message, President Tinubu described the passing as a “painful loss,” urging Governor Ododo to find comfort in his father’s “enduring legacy of humility, service, and discipline.” Vice President Shettima echoed this sentiment, praising the late patriarch as a “devout Muslim and respected community figure” and noting that his values were reflected in Governor Ododo’s dedicated service.
Condolences have also been extended by the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, and the South-West Governors’ Forum. In separate statements, they all honored the late Alhaji Alabi as a man whose life and values positively shaped his family and community.
In response to the outpouring of support, Governor Ododo expressed his gratitude to the nation’s leaders and the Nigerian people. He acknowledged that the messages and prayers had strengthened his family in their time of grief and pledged to honor his father’s memory by upholding the values instilled in him.
