BAUCHI, NIGERIA – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced the arrest of 32 individuals suspected of involvement in internet fraud in Bauchi State. The arrests were made on Friday, July 25, 2025, by operatives from the EFCC’s Gombe Zonal Directorate.
According to a statement released by the commission on Monday, the suspects were apprehended in the Sabon Kaura and Gwalameji areas of Bauchi, the state capital, following intelligence linking them to fraudulent online activities.
During the operation, authorities recovered a range of items, including nine Samsung mobile phones, 15 iPhones, one Infinix phone, three Redmi phones, two iPads, one Peugeot 406 car, two PlayStation 4 consoles, one PlayStation 5, four Neonx Auto bikes, eight laptop computers, one Maxi E50KWH generator, and one pistol.
The EFCC stated that the suspects would be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
