Abuja, Nigeria – Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, has extended his deepest condolences to the family of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in London.
Minister Badaru stated that the loss is profound, not only for the Buhari family but also for the entire nation, which he served with “unwavering dedication and commitment.” He emphasized that during his tenure, President Buhari demonstrated a steadfast commitment to Nigeria’s development and progress.
In his statement, Minister Badaru said: “On behalf of the Ministry of Defence and the Nigerian Armed Forces, I convey our heartfelt condolences to the family, government, and people of Nigeria, under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, on the passing of Former President Muhammadu Buhari. We remember his dedication to democracy, stability, and the unity of our nation, as well as his unwavering commitment to the anti-corruption crusade, which endeared him to many Nigerians.”
The Minister concluded with a prayer: “May Allah grant him Aljana Firdausi and provide his family and all Nigerians with the fortitude to bear this great loss.”
