NNPC Shipping, Stena Bulk and Caverton Launch New Joint Venture

A new joint venture between NNPC Shipping, Stena Bulk and Caverton Marine Limited is set to transform Nigeria’s maritime transportation sector.

The agreement, signed in London, aims to create a new tanker operation serving Nigeria and West Africa’s crude oil, refined product and LNG regional and global shipping requirements.

The joint venture will provide top-quality, reliable and efficient maritime transport, with a focus on safety and sustainability.

Managing Director of NNPC Shipping, Panos Gliatis, said the partnership marked a significant milestone in NNPC’s commitment to modernising Nigeria’s maritime infrastructure.

Stena Bulk’s President and CEO, Erik HÃ¥nell, said the collaboration aligned with the company’s strategy of expanding its presence in key growth markets.

Caverton Offshore Support Group’s CEO, Bode Makanjuola, said the joint venture would enhance Nigeria’s maritime capabilities and benefit the entire Sub-Saharan Africa region.

The partnership comes as Nigeria asserts its position as Africa’s largest economy, with growing opportunities for shipping companies.
