The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors have urged President Bola Tinubu to review his administration’s economic policies, citing the current hardship faced by Nigerians. The call was made in a communique issued after the governors’ two-day meeting in Jos, Plateau State.
The governors expressed empathy with Nigerians struggling under the economic hardship caused by the policies of the APC-led federal government. They pledged to continue pursuing policies and programs that will reduce hardship and ensure progress and development.
Key Demands:
- Economic Policy Review: The governors called on President Tinubu to urgently review macroeconomic and fiscal policies to address the welfare and well-being of Nigerians.
- Electoral Reform: The PDP governors condemned the alleged manipulation of election results in Edo and Ondo states, calling on the judiciary and National Assembly to intervene and ensure the integrity of Nigeria’s democratic process.
- Party Unity: The governors reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring unity and cohesion within the PDP, ahead of the next general elections.
The meeting was attended by key party leaders, including Senator Bala Mohammed, Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum. The governors also commiserated with the governments and people of Plateau and Jigawa states over recent disasters, including a market fire and tanker explosion
