Liverpool surged to the top of the Premier League with a commanding 3-0 victory over Bournemouth, while Manchester United’s struggles continued with a disappointing 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace.

Luis Diaz scored twice within two minutes as Liverpool responded emphatically to their setback against Nottingham Forest last week. Darwin Núñez ended his 14-game goal drought with a spectacular strike.

“We reacted well after the Forest game,” Liverpool manager Arne Slot said. “The players showed great spirit and quality.”

Aston Villa matched Liverpool on points after coming from behind to defeat Wolves 3-1, with Jhon Duran scoring his fourth goal of the season.

Tottenham relieved pressure on Ange Postecoglou with a 3-1 win over Brentford, while Fulham triumphed 3-1 against Newcastle.

Everton and Leicester remain winless after a 1-1 draw.
