ABUJA — Parts of Suleja and neighbouring communities will experience a brief power outage on Saturday, September 26, to allow for annual preventive maintenance on key transmission equipment, utility officials have announced.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) said engineers will carry out scheduled maintenance on the switchgears and associated equipment along the Gwarinpa–Suleja 132/33kV line 2 bay between 13:00 and 16:00 local time.
As a result, customers supplied by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) in Suleja Township, FCT College of Education, Field Base, Zuba, Sabon Wuse, and surrounding areas will face a temporary 20-minute power interruption.
TCN explained that electricity loads will be transferred from Line 2 to the Kubwa–Suleja Line 1 to prevent a prolonged outage during the maintenance exercise.
In a statement released on Friday, TCN management apologised to affected consumers for the inconvenience caused by the scheduled work.
