ABUJA — The management of Nigeria’s National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has approved Thursday, 9 July 2026, as the official passing-out date for the latest batch of young graduates completing their mandatory year of national service.
The graduation marks the conclusion of the scheme for the “2025 Batch B, Stream One” cohort, who have spent the past year deployed across various sectors, including education, healthcare, and rural infrastructure, throughout Nigeria’s 36 states.
A series of final winding-up activities began on Tuesday, 23 June 2026. These include job advisory and career counselling sessions organized by the NYSC and external employment agencies, alongside final administrative and clearance checks by local government and zonal inspectors.
In line with recent operational adjustments, the NYSC confirmed that the event will be a low-key affair, with the official Certificates of National Service distributed directly at local government levels to deserving participants.
The director general of the scheme, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, wished the outgoing corps members a successful transition into the workforce.
He urged them to remain good ambassadors for the country and to allow the core values of national unity, discipline, and community service to guide their future professional careers.
