ABUJA — The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has announced that the 9th Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS) will take place in Abuja on November 10 and 11, 2026.
This year’s conference is themed “Bridging the Trust Gap: Connecting Diaspora Capital with Credible Home-based Opportunities.” and will be held in a hybrid format.
Speaking at a pre-event media briefing, NiDCOM Chairman and CEO, Hon. Dabiri-Erewa noted that strategic investments from the Nigerian diaspora hold the potential to contribute up to $100 billion annually.
Summit format and institutional participation
The two-day hybrid summit will run virtually via Zoom, alongside limited physical attendance at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.
Discussions will center on capital-market opportunities, infrastructure development, public-private partnerships, and regulatory frameworks. The event will feature key regulatory and financial institutions, including:

Focus on transparency and 2027 milestone

Mr. Mobolaji Lewis, Chairman of the Nigeria Diaspora Summit Initiative (NDSI), emphasized that the 2026 summit prioritizes building a well-structured, transparent, and credible investment framework alongside capital generation.
Lewis explained that the decision to adopt a predominantly virtual format was influenced by logistical considerations surrounding the upcoming 2027 general elections. He added that this year’s gathering will serve as a foundational stepping stone toward the landmark 10th anniversary edition in 2027.
