Troops operating under Operation CLEAN SWEEP IV have foiled an attack by armed terrorists targeting construction personnel at Tsatsunbe Village in Southern Kebbi State.
Deploying on Friday following a tip-off, military units engaged the attackers with superior firepower, forcing them to abandon the assault and retreat into nearby bushland.
During follow-up search operations, soldiers safely rescued the construction workers who had taken cover during the encounter and escorted them back to their base camp.
Troops also recovered three motorcycles abandoned by the fleeing group. The operation underscores ongoing efforts by security forces to protect civil infrastructure projects and secure rural communities across Kebbi State.
