Davido to hold press conference on security, electoral transparency ahead of Osun polls

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is set to address journalists and citizens on Wednesday in Osogbo regarding security concerns and electoral readiness ahead of the upcoming Osun State governorship election.

The press briefing is scheduled for 11:00 AM local time at Imole House in the Ogo-Oluwa area of the state capital, according to a media invitation released on Tuesday.

Announcing the event on X (formerly Twitter), the singer wrote: “I will be having a press conference tomorrow at Imole House, Osogbo, to discuss security, INEC and transparency issues.”

Campaign role

The announcement follows Davido’s recent appointment as Chairman of the Imole Youth Mobilisation Committee for the re-election campaign of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Organizers described the upcoming briefing as an address focusing on security measures, transparency from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and other key issues surrounding the governorship vote.

Governor Adeleke, contesting under the platform of the Accord Party, is seeking a second term in office in the August 15 election. Davido has taken an increasingly active role in the campaign, leading youth outreach initiatives and participating in political rallies across the state.
