The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has secured a landmark agreement with Dangote Refinery to lift products directly, paving the way for a steady and affordable supply of petroleum products nationwide. This partnership, announced by IPMAN’s National President, Abubakar Garima, follows a meeting with Aliko Dangote and his management team in Lagos.
Key Benefits of the Partnership
- Increased Efficiency: Direct supply eliminates middlemen, reducing costs and ensuring steady supply.
- Affordability: Lower prices expected due to reduced transportation costs.
- Economic Growth: Partnership to create more job opportunities, supporting President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.
- Backward Integration: Encourages local production, positively impacting Nigeria’s foreign exchange market.
The Dangote Refinery, the largest in Africa and Europe, has commenced production of petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel. The refinery plans to supply products to over 30,000 IPMAN members and 150,000 retail outlets nationwide. This move is expected to increase economic growth and provide a boost to Nigeria’s petroleum market.
Garima urged IPMAN members to support Dangote Refinery, emphasizing the benefits of backward integration and its positive impact on Nigeria’s foreign exchange market. With this partnership, IPMAN members are encouraged to rely on Dangote Refinery and Nigerian refineries for white products, creating more job opportunities and supporting President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.
