Arsenal Smash PSV with Record-Breaking Champions League Win

Eindhoven – Arsenal have delivered a stunning performance in the Champions League, demolishing PSV Eindhoven 7-1 in the first leg of their last-16 tie. The victory, achieved at the Philips Stadion, sets a new record for the most away goals scored by a team in a knockout stage match.

The Gunners’ dominant display saw goals from Jurrien Timber, Mikel Merino, and 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri, who became one of the youngest scorers in the competition’s knockout history. Captain Martin Ødegaard added two goals, while Leandro Trossard and Riccardo Calafiori also found the net. PSV’s Noa Lang scored their only goal from a penalty. The victory places Arsenal in a commanding position ahead of the second leg, with a potential quarter-final clash against either Real Madrid or Atlético Madrid.

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, made a tactical substitution in the first half, removing 18-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly, who had received an early yellow card. The performance in Eindhoven has sent a strong message to Arsenal’s rivals, as they pursue European success.
