The newly deployed Commissioner of Police for Osun State, Samuel Erale, has met with the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Joash Amupitan, at the commission’s state headquarters in Osogbo.
The courtesy visit follows Erale’s assumption of duty after his deployment to the state by the Inspector-General of Police.
During the meeting, the new police chief formally introduced himself to the INEC leadership and pledged the force’s commitment to working closely with the commission to secure the upcoming governorship election.
Welcoming the commissioner, Prof. Amupitan expressed confidence in the ongoing partnership between INEC and law enforcement agencies to guarantee a peaceful, secure, and credible voting process.
Eralé’s arrival comes just a day after the Inspector-General of Police redeployed the state’s immediate past police commissioner ahead of the August poll.
