Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have arrested at least 15 suspected terrorists, logistics couriers, and informants during a series of targeted operations across Kaduna, Katsina, Sokoto, and Zamfara states.
In a statement issued on Friday, Director of Defence Media Operations Major General Michael Onoja said the raids, conducted between 4 and 10 September, yielded significant weapons recoveries, including 300 rounds of live ammunition, military gear, and motorcycles.
Key engagements included an air-supported assault on a terrorist hideout in Katsina’s Yantumaki Forest, the interception of a female ammunition courier in Kaduna State, and the thwarting of an attempted kidnapping in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State.
Soldiers also arrested a suspected informant at Dange Market in Sokoto State after he attempted to bribe troops to avoid detention.
Maj-Gen Onoja reaffirmed the military’s commitment to sustaining joint security offensives to dismantle banditry, arms trafficking, and kidnapping networks across the region.
