Reports indicate sporadic gunshots occurred near Polling Unit 1002 in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Saturday.
According to witness accounts, unidentified individuals arriving in two vehicles fired shots into the air, creating brief panic among residents and voters in the area.
Election materials and officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were not affected, having already departed the location prior to the incident.
Security personnel have since maintained a presence in the area to restore calm.
