Kebbi: Nigerian Troops Ambush ‘Lakurawa’ Militants in Dandi

Troops from Sector 2 of Operation Fansan Yamma have ambushed members of the Lakurawa militant group near Kyangakwoi in the Dandi Local Government Area of Kebbi State, northwestern Nigeria.

Acting on credible intelligence regarding militant movements through a key crossing point near Ungwan Hassan village, troops established a surveillance posture and laid a tactical ambush.

According to military sources, the soldiers intercepted the armed group moving on two motorcycles and engaged them with superior firepower, forcing the militants to retreat.

During a search of the site following the firefight, troops recovered one motorcycle, a Nigerian international passport, a mobile phone, and a T&T communication radio.

The recovered items have been taken into military custody for forensic analysis, while security forces maintain high-visibility patrols across Dandi to restrict militant mobility in the region.
