APC names Imo governor Uzodimma to lead Osun election campaign

Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma to head its national campaign council for the upcoming Osun State governorship election.

The election is scheduled to be held on Saturday, 15 August.

According to a party notice signed by APC National Secretary Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, Uzodimma—who also serves as chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum—will lead a high-powered team that includes top state and federal officials.

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas will serve as co-chairmen of the campaign council.

The party has also set up 12 specialized sub-committees covering strategy, security, grassroots mobilization, media, and finance to coordinate campaign activities across Osun State.

APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka confirmed that the campaign council and its subcommittees will be formally inaugurated on Tuesday, 28 July, at the Transcorp Hilton Event Centre in Abuja.
