Nigerian Army Chief Emphasises Professionalism During Visit to Osun Training Depot

OSOGBO, NIGERIA – The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has called for effective training and enhanced professionalism to produce high-quality soldiers for the Nigerian Army. This directive came during his maiden operational visit to Depot Nigerian Army (NA) in Osogbo, Osun State, on Monday, July 21, 2025.

In his remarks, the COAS urged officers and instructors to align with his vision of bolstering the Nigerian Army’s capabilities in fulfilling its constitutional duties. According to a statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele, Acting Director Army Public Relations, General Oluyede specifically charged instructors to train recruits with passion, focusing on capacity development to ensure the production of top-notch personnel.

During his visit, the Chief of Army Staff also inspected the training facilities and infrastructure at the Depot. This assessment aimed to evaluate the current state of readiness and identify areas for improvement, with the overarching goal of boosting the Army’s operational readiness and overall performance.
