French Open 2025: Alcaraz Dominates Paul to Reach Semi-Finals

Paris, France – Defending French Open champion Carlos Alcaraz delivered a commanding performance to defeat 12th seed Tommy Paul and secure his spot in the semi-finals at Roland Garros.

The 22-year-old Spaniard, seeded second, needed just 53 minutes to establish a two-set lead, dropping only one game in the process. While American Paul offered greater resistance in a more competitive third set, Alcaraz broke again for a 5-4 advantage, quickly closing out the match with a 6-0 6-1 6-4 victory.

Alcaraz will now face 23-year-old Lorenzo Musetti for a place in Sunday’s final. The Italian eighth seed earlier overcame Frances Tiafoe, winning 6-2 4-6 7-5 6-2. This marks Musetti’s second Grand Slam semi-final appearance, having previously reached the last four at Wimbledon in 2024.

Tiafoe, the 15th seed and the first American to reach a French Open quarter-final in 22 years, managed to take the second set after Musetti’s strong start. However, he faded after a gruelling third set, unable to match Musetti’s distinctive playing style.

The French Open 2025 tournament is running from 25 May to 8 June at Roland Garros.
