Paris Saint-Germain Crowned Champions League Winners After Dominant Final Display

Munich, Germany – French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have secured their first-ever UEFA Champions League title with a resounding victory over Inter Milan in a final that was described as one of the most one-sided in recent memory. The dominant 5-0 win at the Allianz Arena in Munich also saw PSG complete a historic treble, having already clinched a domestic double.

From the outset, PSG asserted their authority, opening the scoring inside 12 minutes. Inter Milan’s defence was breached when Desire Doue displayed composure to set up Achraf Hakimi for a simple tap-in. Hakimi, mindful of his former club, opted for a subdued celebration.

The lead was doubled just eight minutes later through a swift counter-attack. Ousmane Dembele picked out Doue inside the box, and the young player found the back of the net with the aid of a deflection off Federico Dimarco.

Inter Milan struggled to create clear opportunities. Marcus Thuram missed a free header from a corner before the break, and the Serie A side were fortunate to go into half-time only two goals down. Dembele also missed a close-range chance, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia headed over from a promising position as PSG maintained firm control.

Inter manager Simone Inzaghi made early changes in the second half to seek a way back into the tie. However, any hope was extinguished just after the hour mark when Desire Doue scored his second goal with a composed finish. Kvaratskhelia then added a fourth for PSG, and substitute Senny Mayulu sealed the dominant performance with a goal from his second touch, ensuring the biggest margin of victory in a Champions League final.

For Inter Milan, it marks consecutive defeats in the Champions League final, following their loss to Manchester City a couple of seasons prior.
