Kogi State Governor Mourns Loss of Ruling Party Official

The Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Ododo, has expressed his deep sadness following the death of Suleiman Muhammed, the Kogi East Zonal Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the state’s ruling party.

In a message of condolence issued on Friday, Governor Ododo described the sudden passing of Mr. Muhammed as a significant loss not only for the APC in the Kogi East senatorial district but for the entire party across Kogi State.

Governor Ododo paid tribute to the late zonal chairman, stating that he was “a man of peace, humility, and one who demonstrated commitment to the service of the state and the APC as a party.” He added that Hon. Muhammed “carried the aspirations of his people with dignity; his leadership was widely respected and his contributions deeply valued within and beyond the APC in Kogi East.”

The Governor further highlighted Hon. Muhammed’s role in fostering unity within the party, noting that “He was instrumental in strengthening party cohesion and promoting inclusive dialogue. His presence in every party engagement brought stability and thoughtful leadership to our consultations in the zone.”

Governor Ododo also emphasized Mr. Muhammed’s “calm temperament, sense of fairness, and ability to listen,” which he said distinguished him as a unifying figure within the APC.

The Governor extended his condolences to Mr. Muhammed’s family, the leadership and members of the APC in Kogi State, the people of Dekina local government area (where Kogi East is located), and the broader Kogi East Senatorial District. He offered prayers for the deceased, asking for forgiveness and a place in paradise.

Mr. Suleiman Muhammed, who was 45 years old, had previously served as the APC coordinator in Odu Ward 2 before becoming the zonal chairman for Kogi East. He has been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic tradition.
